John O Neill, a Finglas community worker, is standing as a socialist candidate in the Finglas Ward, Dublin City, in the upcoming local elections. With the three local T.D.’s handing their council seats over to relatively unknown newcomers, there will be a unique opportunity for him to make a breakthrough as a candidate standing on a clear platform of class politics. ... read full story / add a comment

She said that there was an appalling lack of accurate information concerning the numbers of one-off houses or of their environmental implications. ... read full story / add a comment

Both occupants were badly shaken by the incident, the latest in a spate of racist attacks in loyalist areas of south Belfast. Last month, a Chinese and a Ugandan family fled their homes in the Village district when they came under attack on the same night. ... read full story / add a comment |
