Despite the media trying to smear and criminalize in the public mind anyone who attends an anti-lockdown protest, this week many hundreds of brave citizens turned up to the Cork anti-lockdown protests. Many more were turned away by the Irish Stasi working hard to bring in the Irish part of the global police state which we see rapidly unfolding over the past year all around us. A draft of Cork’s transport plan for the next 20 years includes policies which would decrease the percentage of people who cycle in the “the real capital” from 2.8% in 2016 to 1.3% in 2036. “Hard not to look at this figures and wince,” the Cork Cycling Campaign said on Twitter. Bord Pleanala have failed to meet their current deadline of 22 March for a decision on the Ringaskiddy incinerator application ( http://www.pleanala.ie/casenum/PA0045.htm ) and are to defer for a fourth time in order to request further information from the applicant, Indaver Ireland. An Bord Pleanala have postponed a decision on the Ringakiddy Incinerator Application for a third time. The decision was originally due on 12 July 2016, postponed to 26 October, then to 24 Jan 2017 and has been postponed again with “a proposed decision date not available at this time” according to Bord Pleanala’s website. Cork County Council sets out its land use planning strategy for the development of the towns and villages of the county in a series of Municipal District Local Area Plans, which are currently under review. The Ballincollig-Carrigaline Local Area Plan covers the area surrounding the proposed incinerator site in Ringaskiddy, is directly relevant to the future of the Harbour area and has invited submissions. #ANTIFA : - Whilst Gaelic Football is the sport of those who oppose discrimination, football (soccer) in Ireland is inhabited by the racist and homophobic far right who glorify assaults on LGBT men and women, and foreigners, following a recruitment campaign by the openly national socialist Ireland First, represented on Twitter by Futboi (i) Adam @futboiadam and Futbol (l) Andrew @futbolandrew. Adam's Twitter timeline openly tweets about murdering black people, and Alan tweets to incite the burning of mosques, all fully aware Ireland's rightwing police force do not police internet hate crimes, not even blatant incitement to murder, nor do Twitter remove most racist accounts. Following the demise of Pegida Ireland, the miserable failure that it was, Ireland First have copied the EDL in gathering both young and middle aged football hooligans from Ireland's soccer scene, aiming for a menacing political band of thugs who are prepared to use violence on minorities. Many of their trolling Twitter accounts masquerade under the premise of pseudo-parody, while tweeting out language designed to spur-on violent hate crimes, even murder. On midday on Friday 7th March the Institute of Chemical Engineers - and their corporate sponsors, Shell - had organised for an engineer from Shell's Corrib Gas Project to give a talk and workshop for staff and students of the Engineering College at UCC.
