international / anti-capitalism Monday January 26, 2004 - 02:14 by no-nato
Every year on the second weekend of February the leading warmongers meet in Munich: at the former called "Wehrkundetagung", meanwhile renamed "Munich Conference of Security policy" generals and politicians from member states of NATO and other military powers like Russia and China come together to discuss the military aspects of capitalist world division/capitalist globalisation. The host is nobody else than Horst Teltschick, a former foreign policy expert in the government of Helmut Kohl. Today he works for the "Quandt-Stiftung". The Quandts are main shareholders of the transnational group BMW. It's a natural course of action that friends and competitors of the armaments industry are also invited to this illustrious party. ... read full story / add a comment

The following is the entire text of George W. Bush's State of the Union address.
Since this is an open media forum it thought it appropiate to publish it.
Whatever your views on Bush certainly this speech is hard to beat!
John Kerry or Howard Dean please take note. Bush could trounce you in a public debate! The new articulate intelligent Bush is marching in your direction!

The visit of Tony Wentworth (BNP) to UCC has apparently been cancelled. The decision was taken on Friday night when the General Services people in the college advised the college that it would be too risky.

Unfortunately they did not cancel the event on ethical grounds so no doubt we will be going though this again next year.

So congrats to all involved. The meeting will go ahead tonight to discuss how the campaign went- upstairs in the Phoenix Bar at 8pm.

As readers of indymedia.ie are aware, I was released from Limerick Prison on Friday, 9th January, having served about 45 days of a 60-day sentence arising from my participation in an anti-war mass trespass at Shannon airport in October 2002. Readers will be happy to know that I left the prison without paying one cent of the E750 fine imposed by the state and, consequently, am in very good spirits. ... read full story / add a comment
