Noel Dempsey today welcomed Rio Tinto's 'donation' to the Geological Survey of Ireland (GSI).

This is the same Minister that yesterday granted permission for Shell, Statoil and Marathon to begin offshore work on a major gas field despite recent illegal construction work.

Demspey appears to be championing the role of multinational corporations in Ireland despite the wishes and rights of Irish citizens.

Last week in a U.S. military court, Sgt. Kevin Benderman was sentenced to 15 months for refusing redeployment to Iraq.

Benderman had previously been deployed to Iraq for 8 months before concluding the U.S. war on Iraq to be immoral and illegal.

As nonviolent resistance to this war grows, there will be a growing number of brothers and sisters facing the courts & court martial, in brigs and prisons.

Bourgeoise Notting Hill has been shaken to its foundations and after Police swooped this morning on a flat just off Portobello Road and arrested the Hackney bus bomb suspect. A police cordon has gone up around the area, primarily it seems to keep the media frenzy at bay.
