The WHO once aimed to help nations stand on their own two feet, but now it mainly pushes the agendas of the rich and powerful, says Dr David Bell. That's why it cares more about experimental vaccines than basic sanitation.

There is going to be a property crash in Ireland and a lot of people are going to be left in negative equity having over-borrowed beyond their means - the banks are partly to blame for lending 5 times peoples salaries. They wont mind because they can repossess all the property from people who can no longer pay. The economy in Ireland and world-wide is going down the toilet and it will hit the property market here soon. Housing prices rose last month but the bubble is so big its going to burst at any moment. read full story / add a comment

UCD STUDENTS BLOCKADE BRIAN LENIHAN TD. Today over over 60 students engaged in a walking picket and sit down blockade at the opening ceremony of the new Arts Annex in UCD. The protest organised by the Campaign for Free Education (CFE) came on the back of a meeting of ordinary students held in UCD last week. Originally it was believed that Finance Minister Charlie McCreevy would be present at the opening ceremony, and the protest was originally concieved to voice anger at him. However, members of the Campaign believe McCreevy quickly backed out when the possibility emerged that he would be confronted with a repeat of last weeks Late Late Show. read full story / add a comment

http://www.indymedia.org/front.php3?article_id=205010&group=webcast Excerpt: Senator Clinton was booed when she walked on stage last October at a rock concert in Madison Square Garden to benefit 9/11 victims. It was shown live by VH1 but, as ABC's John Stossel illustrated in a July 20/20 special on media distortions, when the Viacom-owned cable channel replayed it sound technicians replaced the booing with cheering and applause. And that version is the permanent record VH1 put onto its DVD of the event. read full story / add a comment

TONY Blair today reveals a dossier to justify war on Iraq - but there is not one "killer fact" proving Saddam Hussein is an immediate threat. Mr Blair presented the 50-page document at a tense two-hour Cabinet meeting last night in an attempt to bolster support on the eve of its release to MPs. Major Charles Heyman, editor of military bible Jane's World Armies, said: "It does not produce any convincing evidence, or any 'killer fact', that says that Saddam Hussein has to be taken out straight away." read full story / add a comment
