A large group of animal rights activists protested at the St. Stephen’s Day meet of the Waterford Foxhounds in Tramore Co. Waterford.

The annual protest was organised by the Association of Hunt Saboteurs and BadgerWatch Ireland.

Protesters held banners condemning foxhunting and called for a ban on bloodsports.

Recently Domino's pizza store workers in Wolverhampton and Derby earned negative wages after working for a month. Bosses had charged them extortionate amounts for rent and insurance to cheat them out of their wages. It leaves no doubt as to how Domino’s makes their £700 million every year.

To highlight this scandal Socialist Youth in Belfast organised a stall outside a local Domino’s on the Antrim Road on a busy Friday night. We received a warm response from customers to our leaflets. The response of Domino’s however was to ring the police. Over 20 IPSC activists spent their lunchbreak protesting at the EU offices on Thursday 13th December, protesting against the ongoing siege of Gaza. The EU closed their offices in response. It has been announced that the Salthill Air Show for 2008 has been cancelled. Organisers attribute the cancellation to difficulties in raising commercial sponsorship, something they blame on the campaigning of the Galway Alliance Against War (GAAW). Ógra Shinn Féin held a demonstration outside the GPO in Dublin Saturday last in solidarity with the people of the Basque country, especially the leaders of Batasuna and SEGI, who have been recently arrested and sentenced to irrational jail terms, by the Spanish authorities. Today a joint ‘Rabbit’ from the Animal Rights Action Network turned up outside of Brown Thomas’s flagship store on Grafton Street to celebrate the long awaited campaign victory of the up market department store going fur free from February 2008. Joined by other ARAN members the giant ‘rabbit’ uncorked a bottle of champagne to crowds of onlookers whilst cheering ‘Brown Thomas Now Fur Free’ another member also held a sign saying the same! The NRA communications officer threatened the individual/s responsible for entering site to gather images with criminal damage and trespass while at the same time refusing media access .The soutterains were bulldozed that very afternoon.
