A large group of animal rights activists protested at the St. Stephen’s Day meet of the Waterford Foxhounds in Tramore Co. Waterford.

The annual protest was organised by the Association of Hunt Saboteurs and BadgerWatch Ireland.

Protesters held banners condemning foxhunting and called for a ban on bloodsports.

Speaking at the event, John Tierney, Campaigns Director, AOHS, said: “It is time for our legislators to deal with the issue of bloodsports for once and for all. They must carry out the wishes of their electors who do not wish to have our wildlife abused and killed for entertainment.”

According to Mr. Tierney there is a marked increase in bloodsports activities during the festive season.

He claims that hunting with hounds is brutal activity. It exists solely for the pleasure and entertainment for those with a twisted attitude towards animals.

John Tierney went on to say: “The annual hunt meet of the Waterford Foxhounds in Tramore town centre is a public relations effort by those a twisted attitude towards animals. How long more must the town of Tramore be linked with animal abuse and for the town to be held to ransom by animal abusers on St. Stephen’s Day.

Gardai reported no incidents at the event which ended after hunt riders left the Tramore town for the day’s hunting.

Any success sabotaging the hunt?

(I personally think it's the best way to deal with them)

And what are the Greens doing to stop hunting (examples please)? In Britain Fox hunting was banned and they have a much larger tradition of it.

Didn't know you needed Terrorists and Thugs to sab hunts! I thought you just messed up the sent trail, But I suppose if some want to use bombs and punishment beatings instead!

Seeing that you are not too aware of whom is knocking around in the Animal RightsTerrorist [ART]scene here.Check out who Alliance For Animal Rights has been paling around with

1]Robin Webb. Hunt Sab main spokesman in the UK.Caught by Panorama undercover crew, trying to sell them a bomb and with bomb making materials.Often over here for AFAR tete a tetes
2]Dr Jerry Vlaseck.Well known anti vivesectionist and animal rights campainer, who condones violent tactics against all "animal abusers" famous quote "As hunters carry guns in the US,we [ART] will soon do the same"Refused entry to the UK as an undesireable, suspected of terror activitesInvited to speak here in Ireland by AFAR
3] Barry Horne,Convicted for bombmaking and possesion of explosive devices and illegal firearms.Decided to slim for the Animals and conviently or inconviently died as the result.Big ART maryter.
Plenty more where that lot came from.Despite AFARs claims to be peaceful and law abideing isnt it intresting to see that they pal around with people who have criminal records for dealing with tactics and devices that no lawful and peaceful group would want or need????

As the song line is "You got a lot of knives, you are going to cut somthing soon."

According to this specimen "palling around" with people alleged to be militant equals being a terrorist. And how many people exactly have perished at the hands of any animal rights group? Zero.

It is a fact that most anti-human violence stems from the animal abuse brigade.

Graham Hall have we Caobhain????Well let me remind you.He was an undercover reporter for Channel Four who was abducted ,mutilated by having ALF carved in his back by the big heroic thugs of ALF with a knife and then beaten up and dumped by aroadside with a death threat that his wife and kids would get the same.Google his name around 08/11/99

Really nice people the ALF. Not just an isolated incident of Animal Rights Terrorism either. And therefore the terrorist label is just and duely deserved. Now slither back under your slimey rock and stay there!

So, because the ALF ALLEGEDLY branded an infiltrator, they're deemed terrorists? Farmers brand their animals all the time, yet they're not terrorists? Seriously, don't be so stupid.

ALF are no terrorists, one alleged incident is no match for the millions of documented incidents that occur everyday towards ARA's and animals alike. ARA's have been murdered, beaten up, ran over by anti-ARA's and so on for years. Animals have been abused, tortured and murdered by humans for thousands of years, and you call ARA's the terrorists over ONE ALLEGED INCIDENT? You need a reality check, plain and simple.

Sabwatch, you continuously bring this crap into your petty arguments.

Graham Hall claimed to have been branded and beaten by the ALF. Graham Hall also claimed to have been tarred and feathered by dog fighters. Plus he ripped Channel Four out of a loads of money. And it was proven that his documentaries were all dodgy.
In his documentary about the ALF, he was the only one seen to be doing any criminal activity. The whole documentary was a set up.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it a form of prejudice to label an entire group for the actions of a few?
To brand all Animal Liberation activists ad thugs and terrorists because of the actions of a few is just plain ignorant.
The story above highlights the good work done by some very decent human beings. Its a pity some people have to try and tarnish it while sitting on their arses doing nothing.

Imagine this, instead of hunting down the defenceless foxes; hunt down your pets instead; especially your cats and dogs! Very simple. And yet these inhumane and hypocritical beings have double standard; all lovey-dovey to theirpets and then shooting down other animals just for the sake of pleasure??!! How gross is that really!

By the way; in this very modern times; such barbarity has no more place. It was and still is the sport constructed by the elite-capitalist class, where maximization of everything including desire is their main aim in life. They can't see beyond their inhumanity how they need to consider living harmoniously with other beings including defenceless animals such as the foxes to make the universe complete in a healthy sense in every aspect holistically, and not just between human beings but with other beings. Their excuse of justifying such barbarity under tradition cannot be anymore accepted, as traditionalism needs to be balanced harmoniously with modernity; hence both barbaric practices and values in traditionalism and modernity need to be eliminated for the sake of the humanity and planet's well-being. The real wise ancients have long understood it. I suggest these weird beings take a trip to Bali and visit the ancient temples there and see how animals are revered; especially the monkeys. They might then get back their true humanity amidst such enlightening spirituality and wisdom.
