Just what, exactly, is PNAC? Some kind of soft drink? A new type of snack? Unfortunately, PNAC affects our well-being much more adversely than could any junk food. To see why, and also for details on other oddball groups with strange agendas of which we should be aware, read on. ... read full story / add a comment

D Day normandy you know about. Day before General Strike thingy and a big cheery very sincere fuck off Bush message. Everyone else "on the stand" will be "used to this". & Everyone else will somehow come across as being more "sensitive", "aware", "dignified" and "sussed" as to the "importance" of "Delta Day". Even the Irish whose forebears didn't see what all the fuss was about will try and cluck cluck just like Minister Mc Dowell does now. Nothing much has changed. Everything has changed. The last time Bush spent the night out of the USA he spent it in the impregnable castle of Hillsborough in the Queen of England's own private Northern Ireland. "our wee north". I'm not telling you where he's gonna stay in France. ... read full story / add a comment

The growth associated with the so-called Celtic Tiger has vaulted Southern Ireland into the economic lead in the list of small states in the EU. But the distribution of the fruits of this growth has been mainly decided by the bosses and their parties. However the electrical workers in Southern Ireland have now voted and in fact already taken action in the last weeks to say no to this bosses share up. Victory for the electrical workers could open the door for a much wider struggle. The electrical workers must get full support. ... read full story / add a comment

The US Propaganda machine, realising that the illegal war on Iraq has proved to be the nemesis they have so long avoided, are now desperate to shift blame. and in the process prepare a "do Iran" situation. I would like to remind you that Iranians were invited to "do Iraq" by the US machine in December of 2002, which is the point at which I believe "the war" began if only in "covert mode". ... read full story / add a comment

The social and political turmoil that has rocked Venezuela since the election of the radical left-populist former army officer, Hugo Chávez, as President, in 1999, has now entered a new and critical phase. Chávez has now called for the arming of the population and the setting up of a "people’s militia". He has also directly attacked capitalism for the first time and declared that the "Bolivarian revolution has entered a new anti-imperialist phase". ... read full story / add a comment

An Irish Times opinion poll (published on Monday May 24) on the citizenship referendum is good news for the Government – it shows a majority of more than two to one (54% versus 24%, 22% undecided) – in favour of the amendment drafted by Minister for Justice Michael McDowell. The poll was conducted as the “Chen Case” hit the headlines. Were the people who participated in last week’s opinion poll influenced by the mainstream media coverage? That seems likely. ... read full story / add a comment

The human race has moved into the digital age. After centuries of hardship and toil now is presumably the time when the information revolution bears fruition. This so called information revolution refers to the rapid in increase in use of automated technology in modern global society, e.g. ATM machines, mobile phones, satellite technology, smart cards and the Internet. The ideology of the Global Information Infrastructure (GII) centres on the freedom of information for all. The ease of availability of information about other cultures, about government activities and about important news would, it was hoped, lead to greater understanding among cultures. ... read full story / add a comment
