Looking at the Northern ireland school's league tables, surprise, surprise we find that Lagan college is at the bottom of the schools league for GCSE results in the whole of the belfast area, out of all the schools in belfast. Lagan is fifth from the bottom of the league table for all schools in northern ireland. What does this tell us about senior management at lagan college. It indicates clearly that the senior management at Lagan, who all drive plush expensive limosines, don't give a fuck about providing children who choose integration a proper education. They are clearly sending out the message that the majority of integrated children don't deserve an education. read full story / add a comment

The Campaign Against Service Charges held a meeting in Dun Laoghaire on Thursday the 5th of June with an attendance of approximately sixty people. The meeting was chaired by Donal Ni Fherraigh, the speakers were Richard Boyd Barret the Chair of the campaign and Mick O Brien of Sinn Fein. The flavour of the meeting was a blend of anger and nervousness at the imminent legislation which the PD/FF government are trying to push through which would request that refuse collectors refuse to collect the bins from the people whom have not paid the unfair double tax. Several proposals were carried including the need for more localised meetings which will commence over the coming weeks and from there arrange places to dump rubbish and to picket local T.Ds and councillors. read full story / add a comment

Just a quick reminder that the IPSC will be marking the 36th anniversary of the Israeli occupation of the West Bank and Gaza on Thursday June 5th with a peaceful all-day protest outside the Israeli Embassy in Ballsbridge (opposite Jury's Hotel), Dublin 4. Staff will probably remain at the Embassy until after lunch and so we are encouraging everyone to make a special effort to come down before work (we'll be there from 8.30am) or at lunch time if possible, even for half an hour. We want the Embassy staff to know that we are there! So please bring whistles, banners, flags, friends etc. The protest will conclude at 7.30pm. The IPSC office will be open tomorrow evening (Wednesday 4th) for banner painting, and if you can help on Thursday morning/evening transporting materials between the office in Dame Street and the Embassy please reply to this email or call the office read full story / add a comment
