I wish to heartily thank the Socialist Party in Belfast for making possible our recruitment stand in Queens University. It isn't often we have such co-operation from the civilian population. But with ops hotting up in fuzzy-wuzzy-land we need all the strapping lads we can get. With a bit of luck we'll all be home for Christmas. I remember my grandfather Brigadeer "Potty" Smythe telling me how grateful he was to Mr Redmond for the help in the 1914 spat (and of course Labour too). Nice to know some things don't change. The Irish Times graph showing the "winners and losers in the estimates" for government spending in 2003 shows that the State will expected to increase spending on "Secret Service" by %85.
