"Emergency Protest East Link Bridge on Wednesday 19th May at 6pm

The Irish Anti-War Movement condemns the arrival of the USS La Salle,
from the US Sixth Fleet into Irish waters. The ship is stationed in
Alexandria Basin on a supposedly "goodwill visit" and claims that its
area of responsibility includes the North Atlantic.

The IAWM further notes that the missile system on the USS La Salle is capable
of firing 3,000 uranium bullets per minute. Depleted uranium weaponry
has brought an increase in cancer rates in both Iraq and the Balkans." read full story / add a comment

I would like to thank all those who have recently supported my plans to run for election as an independent candidate on June 11th 2004.

Also, I would very much appreciate any publicity for my campaign which Indymedia readers might be able to provide in the weeks ahead.

I am a young law student, and I have very little money of my own to spend on advertising of any kind. read full story / add a comment

From the heart of the battered Al Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City, as the combat helicopters indiscriminately opened its machinegun fire on the citizens and after two nights of hunger, suffering …. Here in Al Zaytoun, south east of Gaza city more than 100 families were trapped, water reservoir
were ripped, power disconnected, the infrastructure was torn up into shreds, and even the “HELP” appeal was met by firings from the Israeli soldiers.

If the Israelis manage to force the Palestinians from what remains of their homelands they face continued persecution from Israels proxies and neighbouring regiemes who cannot or will not support large numbers of refugees on their territory. read full story / add a comment
