The Guardian is one of the few papers to report this story amid all of the war justification hype. Her emails to her family illustrate life under the illegal and brutal Israeli occupation "I don't know if many of the children here have ever existed without tank-shell holes in their walls and the towers of an occupying army surveying them constantly from the near horizons. I think, although I'm not entirely sure, that even the smallest of these children understand that life is not like this everywhere. An eight-year-old was shot and killed by an Israeli tank two days before I got here, and many of the children murmur his name to me - Ali - or point at the posters of him on the walls." read full story / add a comment

List of e-mail addresses for most of the TDs who voted against withdrawing facilities for the US miltary at Shannon last time. I've done the boring bit of collating the addresses so cut'n'paste them and fire off an e-mail demanding an end to support for this unmandated war. Go on, it won't take long!! read full story / add a comment

We'll take the fries and the coke, but hold the moral righteous gush about ridding the world of evil. For that those hypocrites in Washington would have to shut down their arms industries and stop the corporate raiding of the rest of the world. Great news! I've just had it confirmed that CIE Workers will down tools at 12 noon on "Day X" for a minimum of 10 minutes. However from what I've been told the CIE Shop Stewards have said that they'll back any workers who decide to stay out for longer than 10 minutes and I know that many of the CIE Workers will down tools for the rest of the day on "Day X". Many of them have said that they'll block the roads and railways with their buses and trains. Hopefully this will spur other key sectors of Workers such as ESB and An Post Workers to stop work at 12 noon on "Day X" and to stay out for the rest of the day. read full story / add a comment
