Great craic had by all who attended. Sun poked its head out onto the crowd of 200-ish, who were chilling out in the park listening to Bongo. Then acompanied by guitars, saxaphone, and a wicked drummer who nearly had a heart atack on stage from playing so fast! Garda presence was small and un-offensive. They acted fair and the day went off smoothly. "It isn't a riot without riot police" so the crowed were mellow. Nothing to do with the day that was in it- international cannabis liberation day ;-) read full story / add a comment ![]()

It was expected that this would be the largest Dublin Reclaim the Streets to date. What was not so expected was that by the end of the day 24 people would have been arrested and over a dozen hospitalised by a police riot on Dame street. A plump woman with white hair and a sun-wizened face sits cross-legged in the entrance to her home. “My name is Maali Wahdan and I live here,” she says stoutly. "Babylon will be destroyed in an overwhelming judgment of fire, but it will be in the Tribulation, which may be near, but not now. This is why we see Saddam Hussein continuing to be such a problem today, and also why it defies reason, human or inhuman, as to why the job was not completed in 1991. read full story / add a comment ![]()
