The trial of Maarten Blok will take place in gothenburg this thursday and friday. he is unjustfully charged for"supposedly having hit a police officer during the EU summit in Sweden in june 2001. He was extradited from Holland to Sweden 3 weeks ago and has been sitting in prison in Gothenburg since, waiting for his trial. below follows info on solidarty actions taking place. The third annual Diversity Day festival happened yesterday at Bishop Lucey Park (aka ‘the peace park’) in Cork yesterday, the 19th of September, and was widely acclaimed as a success. There was a wide variety of acts and exhibitors, and a crowd in the hundreds lapped up the entrtainment and informative stalls provided free of charge by the participants. There were hassles with insurance and with the access to the park, but all in all it was a successful third festival. the weather was not as good as previous years but that has not stopped SARI growing bigger every year. FATIMA were the overall winners of the cup and DUN LAOIGHRE won the plate lots of people, lots of color, lots of fun well done to everyone who was involved and fair play to the bohs girls, yesterday wasnt the warmest of days but the still went around smiling in their bohs tops we stopped and had little interviews with people yesterday. so enjoy the audio clips and tell more people that this and other thing like it are growing nationwide its a strange time for ireland, untill recently we were the ones leaving home, hoping to be made welcome in new countries. now the tables have turned and people are arriving on our shores people from all backrounds and coutries are learnign to live, work and play together diversity is healthy we celebrate this and hope it grows and grows as Peter said: we are all part of the global village ... read full story / add a comment
