On the last mass deportation it is rumoured that there were two Irish children deported. While we should not discriminate due to birth the Irish government has a constitutional obligation to protect Irish children and deporting them into an unfavourable situation is not the way to protect them. It is incredible that the government will attempt to protect the "unborn child" yet when the child is born seems to say Fair game ... read full story / add a comment

This is an ELECTED official...removed from his earned position...for 'smoking'?! "Smoking" is being made, like the apple in Eden, a Test of Obedience, intentionally with little or no REASON otherwise. If it made intuitive, obvious sense, like laws against robbery and mahem, the test wouldn't work. One thing is..no one has DEFINED "smoking'" to account for any indusrial, harmful, non-tobacco adulterants. Maybe Mr. Deasy will express interest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TD Deasy sacked in smoking row http://212.2.162.45/news/story.asp?j=99401976&p=994xz68z&n=99402736 ... read full story / add a comment

The Morning Show on Newstalk 106 (a Dublin news and current affairs station) are doing a May Day feature tomorrow morning (Thursday, April 1st) from 10am. They will be discussing all aspects of the May Day protests planned throughout the day, and the traditional meaning of May Day, including the traditional May Day March on May 1st organised by the Dublin Council of Trade Unions (DCTU) , but which was cancelled this year because O'Connell Street was to have been closed for the now cancelled concert (maybe you might reconsider your decision now DCTU in light of the changed circumstances?). I encourage everyone to not only tune into Newstalk 106FM from 10am tomorrow morning, but to also participate in the debate by phoning in, texting and emailing. ... read full story / add a comment
