For the past year the radical left in Ireland (such as it is) has been preoccupied with disputes over Globalise Resistance. The arguments which developed almost immediately after the Reclaim the Streets march of May 6th brought the dispute into prominence once again. It would be fair to say that no topic has attracted so much attention on the Indymedia newswire. The partisans of GR indignantly deny that it is a front for the Socialist Workers' Party. The SWP dismisses the allegation as the carping of paranoid anarchists. But this view has come to be held by a wide range of people involved in anti-capitalist activism. In this article I want to explain how the failure of GR can be attributed to the actions of the SWP and its style of politics. ... read full story / add a comment

What have the Arabs, the richest people in the world, done with their "refugees" in more than 50 years? They have kept them in misery, on the dole of the world, and have taught their hopeless youth the "skills" of suicide missions and of slaughtering defenseless and unarmed men, women, and children. ... read full story / add a comment

The following information has been taken from two internal party bulletin's of the Socialist Workers Party which are for use in the party's coming conference which is taking place on Friday 7th June to Sunday 9th of June. We have acquired this information via a disgruntled source inside of the SWP. We believe that the information inside of the Discussion Bulletin's are of perticular interest to the activist community in ireland. Considering the SWP has used its weight in recent years to try and control the movement in Ireland we believe that publishing this information via Indymedia is a justified act. ... read full story / add a comment

Oriana Fallaci, one of Italy's best know journalists, currently in retirement, expresses her feelings regarding the rising tide of Anti-Semitism in Europe. Oriana Fallaci on Antisemitism Today April 12, 2002 I find it shameful that in Italy there should be a procession of individuals dressed as suicide bombers who spew vile abuse at Israel, hold up photographs of Israeli leaders on whose foreheads they have drawn the swasitka, incite people to hate the Jews. I find it shameful that the Catholic Church should permit a bishop, one with lodgings in the Vatican no less, a saintly man who was found in Jerusalem with an arsenal of arms and explosives hidden in the ... read full story / add a comment
