Has the media has been lying to us all along to justify the horrific Israeli military action against Lebanon?

We have all been told that Hezbollah breached Israeli borders and captured Israeli soldiers from behind the Israeli lines and this has been the justification for the annialation of lebanon and the killing of around 400 lebanese people and 4 U.N. observers. ... read full story / add a comment

Only a matter of hours ago as writing, one of Lebanon's privately owned TV stations reported that it had suffered attack from Israeli forces & that the same incident had seen Aamchit army base attacked.

This comes a day after UN observers stationed under the UNIFIL mandate in Lebanon were killed despite repeated notification just as if they were Hzb terrorists.

Hzb has a telly station, but you're not allowed watch it, and very keen readers of this website will remember I told you all about how the signal is blocked 3 years ago. You can though if clever with a satellite dish and the requisite software get to see LBC TV, but its probably easier to go thier website.

After they reported the Israeli forces attack on Aamchit, which is a Lebanese army base some 20 kilometres north of Beirut, which is if you really want to know very far away from their "civilian evacuation zone north of the south" Lebanese border. I'm not an expert, but I watch a lot of telly. American right wing telly has said this morning that the USA is isolated and given space to book writers who argue all Europeans and red Chinese are nazis and thats why they support Hezbollah.

This news article has nothing to do with Hezbollah. ... read full story / add a comment

on the 26th of July 1956 Nassar read the proclamation in Cairo by which his popular government liberated the Suez Canal from joint Anglo-French imperialist stockholders.

It was one of the most significant nationalisation declarations of history leading to an attack by French & British troops on Egypt and then their sudden abandonment by the USA. 1956 for many proved the watershed (forgive the pun) which forever locked Britian and France out of their imperialist past and proved their inability to act "on their own" if the USA did not support their actions. ... read full story / add a comment

In the Pitstop Ploughshares case at the Four Courts, the Judge's charging of the jury on Friday was difficult to hear. Three members of the public asked that the sound be turned up, - but without success.
On Monday the Judge went through the evidence of the defendants and the defence witnesses at break-neck speed and sent the jury out at ten past three to consider if they could reach a unanimous verdict.
This is a report on what followed in court on Monday and Tuesday.

Today those elected to the Peruvian government earlier this year to serve till 2011 must each swear an oath of allegiance. Its part of a series of constitutional rituals which will lead up to the presidential inauguration this coming Friday which is also Peru's national day.

The formula for the oath is very simple - (they often are) - each deputy takes his place in turn & recorded by stenographers and pictured on live TV recites the formula of loyalty. But already some deputies oaths have been rejected :- ... read full story / add a comment

Kilkenny City centre came to a standstill last Saturday afternoon as an Ógra Shinn Féin rally passed proudly through the streets of the City. The rally assembled outside Kilkenny Castle, the Norman home of the Butler's of Ormond. Those present listened intently as the rally, chaired by ÓSF local organiser, Peadar de Bluit, was addressed by Lisburn City Councillor Paul Butler, and Carlow / Kilkenny SF General Election candidate Kathleen Funchion, both of whom spoke about the significance of the Hunger Strike and the legacy left by it and the duty of those left behind to strive for the Ireland for which those 10 young men and indeed many patriots died for during the centuries of occupation by a foreign force. ... read full story / add a comment

Most Irish newspapers carried an advertisement yesterday which included details
of the issues which will be studied in relation to the 'CC' case and the 'A' case.
These are published as perameters for the fifteen member committee which
contains three women, one TD(fine Gael) and two senators.
The'CC' case prompted an expected constitutional crisis, wherein the 1935
legislation pertaining to the 'honest mistake' mechanism was allowed in the case of
someone accused of statutory rape but of an age with the victim. Justice Mary Laffoy had no
option within the perameters of that legislation but to release 'CC'. ... read full story / add a comment
