The protest march against the visit of George W. Bush began shortly before 6.30pm. Everyone was reported to be in high spirits. At 7.20 the march arrived near the Lidl supermarket. At 8.10 the front of the march was about three hundred metres walk from the airport. 8.30pm The march was stopped about 200 metres from Shannon Airport by the Gardai at about 8.15pm. The gardaí have announced that the Anti-War Ireland demonstration at Shannon on Friday evening will be allowed to go ahead.
