Dishevled and lost looking, we sat perched on the concrete wall outside Top Oil on Amien Street. With no banners, and no leaflets, if there was a bus top there at least it could have done something of a job in justifying our presence outside a seemingly random petrol station in the city centre. Forty or so people turned up at the Spike in support of the 5 Catholic Workers who are having a pre-trial hearing in the Four Courts this morning.
I don't have full details but seemingly on their way towards the Four Courts a group of about six broke off and are occupying the Aviation Authority Office for the last half hour or so!

Determined that there should be SOME kind of opposition in the Stormont Assembly, Eamonn McCann has agreed to stand for election to the Assembly. He points out that while the other parties are at each others' throats all the time about 'constitutional' issues, they are at one in implementing the neo-liberal agenda of privatisation and public sector cuts. As for imperialism, he argues that "The fight against imperialism in 2003 is a fight against US-led imperialism across the globe, or it is nothing.
