British security chiefs are reported to be hopping mad after an American based internet site published a list of over 100 of their active agents and their locations . Many are based in Africa , Eastern Europe , Iraq and Asia . British spooks are terrified the cover of their agents has been irrevocably blown and their intelligence contacts compromised ( one is even referred to simply as a "wanker" by occupation which would indicate someone is ticked off about something in dear old Blighty .. Some of the names have been based in Ireland . The most prominent on the list is former UK Liberal leader Paddy Ashdown , a "former" British Army officer . 'The National Aquatic Centre is being poorly maintained leading to an air of decay in the new facility, it has been claimed. Members complain of dirty changing areas, broken toilets as well as the build up of grime on mirrors, walls and underneath benches.'

Pickets took place across dublin (and nationally) at statoil stations demanding statoil withdraw from the corrib gas field consortium. around 25 people took part in the one at usher quay in Dublin city centre. There was great support from the motorists and for most of the time the garage was completely empty.

Today, for seven back-straining hours, Shell to Sea activists toughed it out with the inclement weather and pneumonia to bear witness to the Five, now in day 58 of their obscene incarceration, garnering rakes of petition signatures, dispensing leaflets and outrage to the good people who flocked to our info table to similiarly bear witness.

The day was capped with an hour's picket/blockade of the Statoil Servive Station at the nether end of Bothar Mhor which drew the mild attention of two Gardai and an avalanche of supportive car honks and power salutes. Established in 1986, "Combat Poverty is the sole national statutory organisation in Ireland dedicated to advising on ways to prevent and eliminate poverty and social exclusion."

They campaign for a fairer distribution of resources and offer a lot of information on poverty in the state.

Geoffrey Dawson Lane, Baron Lane AFC QC PC (July 17, 1918 – August 22, 2005) a former British Lord Chief Justice of England & Wales who presided over the Birmingham 6 appeal trial has died today at the age of 87.

He will be remembered for many reasons.
* he followed Lord Widgery.
* he had "strong views" on murder, rape and sexual morality.
