While Ógra would never dream of violating Dublin City Councils rules on postering and such, or the inalienable right to private property, the cornerstone of this glorious state, we really must commend the young republicans who in support of our movement have attempted to remind the people of Dublin of the revolutionary history of their city. 16 Moore St. the final HQ of the Provisional Government of The Irish Republic in Easter week 1916 now represents the minority of the Parnell Street area which has not been revitalised by the "new" Irish. It lies in disrepair, shut up and until recently anonymous to the thousands who pass it everyday. Since named as a protected structure by DCC in 2005 which halted an attempt by its owner to demolish it, 16 Moore St. has remained untouch and unopen. This is a great shame as it holds the potential for a focal point in what is now a very vibrant part of the city. ... read full story / add a comment
