The Blanket update includes, Davy Carlin on NIPSA Dispute, Mackers on Scargill, Mc Cann on Pat Finucane case , O Comain on Ulster Britishness, and Laim O Ruairc, on Waste. That meeting on Scargill was very well attended and I believe Mackers gives a fair report of it although he has a dig at the SWP. Worth a read, as are the other items, I also think that the satire and pictures are getting better over time, but thats just my opinion. Keep it up! ... read full story / add a comment

interesting article in the weekly worker on homophobia by oppressed people and what the lefts attitutde is and should be. Criticising the oppressed The gay rights group, Outrage, is renowned for its headline-making campaigns against homophobia - of, for example, the Church of England, Robert Mugabe and elements of the Palestine Liberation Organisation. This led to a fierce denunciation by the SWP’s Lindsey German and a heated exchange on BBC2’s Newsnight. Most recently Outrage has highlighted the murderous lyrics of certain Jamaican reggae artists. But is it right to criticise the oppressed? Peter Tatchell, Outrage’s leading activist, explains his approach http://www.cpgb.org.uk/worker/544/tatchell.htm ... read full story / add a comment
