The Gardai are placing a lot of emphasis on speed, as if speed was the complete cause of our road fatalities. The Germans are showing us that speed is not the only problem associated with road fatalities. The problem we now have is that the Gardai are alienating themselves from law abiding people because they are being forced to penalise people because of regulations that the Gardai themselves cannot uphold. The vast majority of our people want to abide by the law but are being forced into direct conflict with the gardai because our road regulation have not been thought out properly. Help the Gardai fight crime.......would you be prepared to telephone if you were suddenly presented in the post with a speed fine for a road that could handle a Jumbo 747? ... read full story / add a comment

NIPSA’s right wing is attempting to re write history and is deliberately distorting the facts of the Civil Service pay dispute. This can only have the effect of compounding any negative outcome of the dispute with disorientation and demoralisation of NIPSA members. TFC is fighting against this by initiating an open and honest discussion about all aspects of the dispute. In this way a stronger united union can be built. This is intended as a contribution to a wider discussion amongst TFC activist and NIPSA members. ... read full story / add a comment

The Corrib gas project is synonymous with Shell, leading player in a consortium also featuring Statoil and Marathon Oil. While Shell as the dominant partner has played the biggest role so far in Corrib, there are many more companies involved in this discredited project. Most of the work on the project from the construction and design of the gas refinery to peat haulage and site security is subcontracted out to individual companies. ... read full story / add a comment

All societies are divided into classes that are "oppressed" and those who oppress them. Capitalism is no different, even though its revolutions may have instituted democratic political structures designed to enfranchise the "oppressed." For the very idea of democracy in a society where private property exists, according to the Manifesto, is an illusion: "The executive of the modern state is but a committee for managing the common affairs of the whole bourgeoisie." In other words, democratic elections are a sham. Civil war is the political answer to humanity's problems: "Workers of the world unite, you have nothing to lose but your chains." The solution to all fundamental social problemsto war, to poverty, to economic inequality lies in a conflict that will rip society apart and create a new revolutionary world from its ruins. This is the enduring message of the Manifesto, and why its believers have left such a legacy of human freedom in their wake as they set about to create a progressive future. ... read full story / add a comment

The methodology of preparing an EIS used by the project management team in the M3 Route selection procedure was adapted as a template for procedural applications and re-hashed for the NRA conference. As an American, I am completely fed up with the "war on terror" going on in Iraq and the constant screw-ups along made along the way. Yesterday, I read that Ayad Allawi, Iraq's former interim learder has consented that Iraq is involved in a Civil War, yet the US Idiot cannot seem to figure that out. Now today, I brouse through The Guardian, and discover a story relating tales of terror detainees barred from trials in the US courts, and awaiting judgement on their right to a trial. ... read full story / add a comment |
