Seeing 'Bloody Sunday' on UTV last night reminds us of one of the worst Crimes of The Troubles when 13 Civilians were killed and 14 injured by the British Army in Derry on January 30th, 1972. No British Officer or Soldier was ever charged over Bloody Sunday. 40 years on the fight for justice goes on. Bloody Sunday not forgotten. The 14 Raytheon accused are 9 women and 5 men, based in Derry, in the north of Ireland, who are facing criminal charges after they used Non Violent Direct Action to access the Raytheon Software plant in Derry, in an attempt to disarm the mainframe computer. Until they left in February 2010 (thanks to all the action taken against them), Raytheon's Derry software plant developed the firmware for transponders, targeting software and other crucial guidance system-related work for weapons. Their factories globally manufacture Tomahawk Cruise missiles, Sidewinder missiles, Hellfire missiles, the "Bunker Buster" bombs, the delivery systems for Cluster bombs, White Phosphate and Napalm. ... read full story / add a comment ![]()

The Scariest thing in Derry this Halloween “Last night I watched our city stagger out of the bars and clubs. Broken bottles and cut eyes. Girls in bright clothes taunting boys with gold rings. I stood there for hours listening as it turned blunt and angrily cast around for the wrong look or a flicker of fear to attack. It lingered to jeer at a girl boking against the wall of a bank and moved on. The whole street seemed to be lurching and scowling in sullen expectation....” ... read full story / add a comment ![]()
