Bus Workers have made it quite clear that they want no concessions to Brennan's privatisation agenda yet despite this the NBRU are entering yet another round of sham talks on Thursday while CIE workers are striking! Because of this the Busworkers Action Group (BAG) has called a protest for this Thursday, March 18th. March assembling outside the talks venue at the Department of Transport at 10.30am. Sorry for the short notice about this! With all that's happening at the moment, what with our 6-month EU Presidency, and the various protests, both Trade Union and others taking place against this, and a general upsurge in militancy and general discontent generally, we in the Independent Workers Union (IWU) feel that now is a good time after almost 3 years to formally launch the Independent Workers Union (IWU) with our inaugural Annual Delegate Conference in Cork on Saturday, April 3rd. Details of which will be posted later. read full story / add a comment
