Last night Independent TDs put down a motion, supported by the Greens and Sinn Fein, one element of which was to condemn the imprisonment of Joe Higgins and Clare Daly. (Regrettably, as Sinn Fein pointed out it made no mention of other protestors. The responses from PD Ministers Harney and O'Malley are fascinating, an all out attack on the left, Higgins, the SP, even the shinners. UNIVERSITY SHOWING OF NEW DOCUMENTARY ON VENEZUELA, THUR: 16 OCT The Ecology Society at NUI, Galway, in association with the Global Womens Strike, is showing a film entitled Venezuela: a 21st Century Revolution on Thursday, 16 Oct. at 7.30 pm in the Arts Millenium building.
