Three of the anti-war protesters arrested outside the city hall in Belfast on the 8th of April had to turn up in court again. Tomas' next date will be the 24th of July, even though he doesn't have to turn up himself- so far he had to come across the water from England for every hearing in court. Colette and Lucas both got adjourned to the 7th of August- the same date as some of the other protesters arrested that day. Today only two supporters made it on time, maybe we have some more next time? (Meeting outside the court at 10am). read full story / add a comment

Will T.V. again turn its eyes to Iraq as the "rebuild" begins. Will the Massive equipment imported to dig founations and raise fallen walls ( . . . or screens), be advertised to distract public attention from reality (lack of) T.V. or will they gear up focus on impending war in Iran as public discontent thrives - encouraged under spotlights. The following is a short simple unsubstansiatable accusation I fear to be true and hope to be false. read full story / add a comment

(Once again the GM interests have a go at Meacher. Not satisfied with having him removed as Environment Minister, they now want to silence him.) The head of Britain's leading scientific academy has accused the former environment minister Michael Meacher of "severely distorting" the scientific facts and uncertainties surrounding genetically modified foods. The furore over GM foods erupted once again on Sunday when Meacher published a newspaper article saying the government had ignored evidence that GM crops could be a hazard to human health. He had been environment minister for six years until losing his job on 13 June. http://www.newscientist.com/news/news.jsp?id=ns99993874 read full story / add a comment
