On Wednesday, a colourful novelty protest calling for a ban on blood sports will be staged in front of the GPO in O’Connell Street, Dublin. A glamorous young woman dressed in red white and black hunting outfit will bathe publicly in a large tub filled with “blood”. The protest commences at 1.15 pm on Wednesday July 25th and continues for an hour. This will represent an excellent photo opportunity so we invite you to send along a photographer. It will be organised by the Association of Hunt Saboteurs and the Campaign for the Abolition of Cruel Sports. read full story / add a comment

The Six One News tonight was followed by a Consumer Soap Opera 'Docu' special on the intimacies and murder of the O Reilly Marriage. Serious Reporters discussed with alacrity the 'ins' and 'outs' of the case. This is because RTE are consumer driven shite and incapable of Opinion and analysis. -They like to give the public what it wants- This kind of mentality drives US Consumer TV where Newsreaders burn reports on Paris Hilton. When did RTE last analyse Geo- political movements GM/ECO/. It has become popcorn TV for the Great brainwashed Irish Nation. read full story / add a comment

One of the most controversial inquiries of the Troubles, involving claims that police officers in Northern Ireland secretly adopted a "shoot to kill" policy, has been reopened, the Guardian has learned. The allegations that republican terrorist suspects were deliberately killed rather than being arrested led to an investigation by John Stalker, then deputy chief constable of Manchester, in the mid 1980s. But his report was never published, and there was political uproar after he was removed from his post just at the point where he believed he was about to obtain an MI5 tape of one of the shootings. read full story / add a comment

This is an article from Human Rights Watch in which they condemn the televised confessions forced out of Iranian Dissidents. It is wrong for the US to torture those who yhey hold illegally and it is also wrong for the Iranian SState to torture "confessions" out of those they hold illegally. Full article at link. The Iranian government should cancel the scheduled July 18 broadcast of the “confessions” of two detained Iranian-Americans, Human Rights Watch said today. Human Rights Watch expressed concern that Iranian authorities have used coercive means to compel Haleh Esfandiari and Kian Tajbakhsh to make statements that may be later used to incriminate them in court. The authorities have held them in largely incommunicado detention for more than two months, preventing lawyers and family members from visiting them. They have only been permitted brief phone calls to family members. read full story / add a comment

Those who oppose the US wars of imperialism are probably quite cynical about the lies and distortions used to justify what they slaughter. Nevertheless, it is likely that a press release issued by the Campaign Against Sanctions and Military Intervention in Iran will shock even those who thought they had seen it all. read full story / add a comment
