The government of the US (with support from Great Britain and Australia) is leading the charge for war against Iraq. These three governments have helped East Timor’s independence since 1999 but from 1975 until 1999 they supported the brutal Indonesian military occupation of this country, supplying weapons and training to the Indonesian army to better enable it to kill and torture the East Timorese people. Big OIl, top impetus for Blair and Bush plan for illegal Iraq Invasion, is PART of the cigarette industry. Yet it's Pub proprietors and patrons, all victims of toxic/cancer-causing cigarette contaminants, who must bear burdens of law. School students against war {SSAW} in Belfast after speaking on behalf of youth in the North at the Belfast Feb 15th Demo have held a debate today. Barbara Muldoon SWP and Anti War Movement debated Bob McCartney of the UK unionist party. Over 300 schoolstudents attended the debate. Although only recently formed SSAW have went from strength to strength with already a brief TV slot on prime time news and on radio and today in a paper I picked up gave them almost a half page picture of their big contingent on the demo lead by their banner.
