February 15th was a great day for the anti-war movement in Ireland, with over 100,000 people turning out to oppose the war. But does that mean that every demonstration has to be a repeat of F15? Are we incapable of walking _and_ chewing gum at the same time? read full story / add a comment

The IAWM and the GNAW are at eachothers throats, meanwhile the likes of the Labour Party, PANA etc are willing to accept a war if the UN Security Council does. The fact that a UN resolution won't stop bombs killing civilians doesn't seem to register. The media and government try to talk up a Red Menace, with the potential to infect decent law abiding citizens, who everyone admits are anti war but seemingly not anti-government. read full story / add a comment

On her way to NYC to meet Kofi Annan, Green MEP Patricia McKenna said today that members of the U.N. security council were being bullied and blackmailed by the U.S. into agreeing to a new U.N. resolution. She said that some of these countries are very vulnerable and that the U.S is putting pressure on them by offering certain things or by threatening certain actions against them. This is a welcome departure by the Greens from the F.F. -F.G.-Labour-Sinn-Fein line that backing by the security council makes the impending mass murder of 1000s of Iraqi civilians legitiimate and justified. read full story / add a comment

On Saturday the 1st of March, there was a rally at Shannon Airport of approximately 450 Gardai who had gathered for the purpose of preventing some several hundred of the extraordinary citizens of Ireland from expressing their opposition to the continuous use of the airport by the US military forces as a base of operations for their long running campaign against the poor and defenceless men, women and children of what they commonly refer to as the third world. read full story / add a comment
