This recent report outlines the reality of the plight of Palestinian prisoners. The draconian measures Israel is perpetrating make any comparison with British internment of Irish activists tragically laughable.

The media is currently holding the line that Israel is making serious concessions by contemplating releasing a small number of prisoners. Reports by Amnesty and Stop the Torture shed light on the list of human rights abuses Israel has been carrying out for decades and which have led to the recent Intifada.

Also with the battle over the privatization of Dublin Bus looming it would be great if the CM could in some way show support for the Bus Drivers so if anyone has banners or leaflets that could be handed out on the way it might be an idea.

Hi all,

Was at the Dublin bus meeting in Liberty hall last night. It was well attended with not only bus drivers and members of political groups but also some customers of Dublin bus who are worried about how the change will affect their lives. There was lots of fighting talk directed towards Seamus Brennan and the government in general. We have a Taoiseach who says he is against privatisation and is pro union, yet every day there seems to be new developments and new legislation from the government that suggests exactly the opposite. read full story / add a comment

The research predicts that winter rainfall in this country will increase by 10%, but will decrease significantly - by as much as 40% - on parts of the south and east coasts in summer.

The research says sea level rises, coupled with predicted increases in the frequency of extreme weather events, will make low lying areas extremely vulnerable. read full story / add a comment
