Wish I could have posted my pics of the charge of the NYC horse brigade into crowds, but the server won't accomodate. Please, when you have time go to NYC IMC to read the many first-hand accounts from 2/15. I personally feel it's important people read what happened to us. Yesterday, some joked with me that I didn't end as is my habit "Vince from the land of the free." Of course, I couldn't. What before was anger/irony, now feels so painfully real. I feel viscerally and spiritually sick. It was so ignorant of the cops/administration/judge and unnecessary yesterday. The cops were the problem, not the diverse and peaceful anti-war protesters. Unclesama bin liner's convenient alciaeda terrorist threat to the west, comes in time to condemn millions of unconnected innocent iraqi civillians to death at the hands of brit/american troops, it also comes in time to justify british society embracing draconian military rule and laws. Michel Chossudovsky looks at "the blatant distortion of truth and the systematic manipulation of all sources of information" which is lying the ground for devastating war. Military planners in the Pentagon are acutely aware of the central role of war propaganda. Waged from the Pentagon, the State Department and the CIA, a fear and disinformation campaign (FDC) has been launched. The blatant distortion of the truth and the systematic manipulation of all sources of information is an integral part of war planning. In the wake of 9/11, Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld created to the Office of Strategic Influence (OSI), or "Office of Disinformation" as it was labeled by its critics: read full story / add a comment

The United States and Europe traded barbed comments Sunday after three days of WTO talks. Europe and Japan remained resolutely opposed to more drastic cuts in tariffs and export subsidies proposed by the United States and other big exporters, and the two main camps in the talks traded critical comments after the final session. The Regime is angry over Brussel's ban on genetically modified foods. Developing countries are increasingly frustrated at the lack of access for their farm imports to developed world markets, particularly in highly protected Europe and Japan. http://reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=businessNews&storyID=2235837 read full story / add a comment
