British security chiefs are reported to be hopping mad after an American based internet site published a list of over 100 of their active agents and their locations . Many are based in Africa , Eastern Europe , Iraq and Asia . British spooks are terrified the cover of their agents has been irrevocably blown and their intelligence contacts compromised ( one is even referred to simply as a "wanker" by occupation which would indicate someone is ticked off about something in dear old Blighty .. Some of the names have been based in Ireland . The most prominent on the list is former UK Liberal leader Paddy Ashdown , a "former" British Army officer . It seems he just switched to a plain clothes army career instead . read full story / add a comment

A series of demonstrations in the cities of Xanthi and Komotini, followed by a march towards the "refugees reception center" in Vena, took place in the frame of the "Actions Against the Borders". Outside the detention center, the protestors had a violent conflict with the police while trying to get in. Finally, a group entered the place and managed to write down the names of the refugees, in order to submit asylum requests on behalf of them, while video-taping the place and the awful living conditions.

At the first day, during a demonstration across the Greek-Bulgarian borders, two vans were temporarily blocked on Bulgarian side. Finally, given the pressure by the demonstrators on the Greek side, they were allowed to cross the borders.

The Irish government is currently trying to deport women and children under the threat of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), which frequently results in death. Asylum in Ireland can be sought on grounds of religious or political persecution. However the government refuse to acknowlege FGM as a political act and therefore women and children cannot apply for asylum on the basis they have suffered or will suffer FGM if deported. read full story / add a comment

(In response to this attack I sent him this letter and a copy to both the Taoiseach and the new CEO of the NRA. Needless to say I have received no response from any of them. As the mainstream media failed to cover a press release on my reply I’m including it here after the article.)

The Minister for the Environment and Local Government Dick Roche
launched a stinging attack on opponents of the M3 route at a Fianna
Fail business briefing in Athboy last week.
