While this is probably just an attempt to win the Irish-American vote, it presents us with an opportunity to link the widespread animosity towards Dubya with the ongoing local resistance to the US war machine. read full story / add a comment

On the last mass deportation it is rumoured that there were two Irish children deported. While we should not discriminate due to birth the Irish government has a constitutional obligation to protect Irish children and deporting them into an unfavourable situation is not the way to protect them. It is incredible that the government will attempt to protect the "unborn child" yet when the child is born seems to say Fair game read full story / add a comment

This is an ELECTED official...removed from his earned position...for 'smoking'?! "Smoking" is being made, like the apple in Eden, a Test of Obedience, intentionally with little or no REASON otherwise. If it made intuitive, obvious sense, like laws against robbery and mahem, the test wouldn't work. One thing is..no one has DEFINED "smoking'" to account for any indusrial, harmful, non-tobacco adulterants. Maybe Mr. Deasy will express interest. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TD Deasy sacked in smoking row http://212.2.162.45/news/story.asp?j=99401976&p=994xz68z&n=99402736 read full story / add a comment
