Brits Destroy Home of Mass Murderer but Denounce israelis when THEY do the Same

category international | anti-war / imperialism | news report author Sunday April 04, 2004 11:35author by Bill Gates Report this post to the editors

British Hypocrisy

I have incredible breaking news
for you.

The British blew up the house of a mass murderer! Yes, the very same
Brits, who have never met a Middle East terrorist they would not
characterize as an activist, the same Brits who denounce Israel as a
terrorist state every time it blows up the home of a Palestinian suicide
bomber or other nazi mass murderer, has actually perpetrated an identical
obstruction to peace and aggression against human rights!

You see, in the town of Soham, which is on the West Bank of the River
Great Ouse in the eastern UK, one Ian Huntley had murdered two
schoolgirl settlers. Yesterday the township demolished the property as a
way to deter other would-be mass murderers and child-murderers. Moreover, this
has come in the tracks of other destroyed properties of mass murderers in
the UK that were also demolished (see below).

Now I just know that you are going to want to report this right away to
the World Court in the Hague, and urge the Belgians to indict Tony Blair
for this abuse of human rights and aggression against peace.

Here is the BBC's version of the report:
Soham murder house is demolished
The demolition of the house where Soham schoolgirls Holly Wells and
Jessica Chapman were killed by Ian Huntley has been completed.
The property, which came with Huntley's job as caretaker at Soham Village
College, has been screened off from public view for months.

Most of the interior was ripped out for evidence in Huntley's trial at the
Old Bailey, which ended in December.

The house was destroyed by a digger at 0830 BST, 35 minutes after work
began.

Police officers and officials from Cambridgeshire County Council and
security staff observed the destruction of the house from the ground in
silence.

Cameramen and photographers from the press were allowed to oversee the
work from elevated platforms which were raised above the house's
corrugated steel fence.

REDUCED TO RUBBLE
Fred and Rosemary West buried nine of their victims at 25 Cromwell Street
, Gloucester - demolished and replaced with shrub-lined 150ft (45.72m)
paved walkway
John Christie murdered his wife and at least five other women at 10
Rillington Place , Notting Hill, west London - demolished and renamed
Ruston Close
Thomas Hamilton shot dead 16 children and their teacher at Dunblane
Primary School gymnasium - demolished and replaced with a garden of
remembrance and play area
Howard Gilbert, the Soham Village College head teacher who employed
Huntley, told the BBC the destruction of the house was "a symbolic sign
for the community and a relief that it is now gone".

"It's another chapter finishing," he added.

"But the memories will never go away."

Contractors charged with demolishing the house had signed confidentiality
agreements to prevent anything from the house being sold to collectors.

"The rubble will now be crushed into dust and taken away to secret
locations over the next few days," a council spokesman said.

"But there will be no bricks left. The last thing we want is for bricks
from this house to be sold as souvenirs."

The girls' parents were not present to witness the destruction of the
house.

The 29-year-old caretaker Huntley was sentenced to two life terms for
murdering the two 10-year-olds, Holly Wells and Jessica Chapman, at the
house in August 2002.

Solicitors for Huntley and his former girlfriend Maxine Carr, 26, wrote to
the police confirming the house could be released back to the local
education authority.

School governors were later told it would not be needed as evidence in an
appeal.

Cambridgeshire County Council feared the property could be a permanent
reminder of the girls' deaths if left standing.

The two best friends' bodies were discovered in a copse near RAF
Lakenheath in Suffolk almost two weeks after they disappeared.

You see, the houses the Israelis are demolishing also happen to be inhabited by families, so I don't know, call me a humanitarian or some other nasty name but I don't think its really right to destroy a poor families abode. And of course its not just the houses of suicide bombers which these democratic and peace loving poor put upon Zionists raze to the ground. Its any house that gets in the way of their murder campaign against a mostly defenseless people or indeed any house they don't like that stands on some land they want to steal for the master-race to enjoy.

... but does Huntley's former home not belong to the school. They can do what they want with it now that Huntley has been locked up - or are you suggesting that he also keeps his job and the benefits that go with it.

The demolition of homes of suicide bombers, rather than a public body trying to put behind a gruesome (although perhaps overhyped when compared to daily suffering and death dealt to children across the world, and given the comparison, also don't forget the hundreds of children murdered in the occupied territories) incident behind them, is an exercise in collective punishment, perhaps inspired by British policy throughout the years.

This is another attempt to try and bring israeli oppression into the realm of the normal, while it is nothing of the sort - it is contrary to all forms of normality and human behaviour - it is contrary to the geneva conventions, it is a war crime - and that definition comes from Geneva and the accords agreed by nations to stop another holocaust and to prevent the humiliation of a people by another.

Huntley pleaded not guilty to the murder and was convicted on circumstantial evidence - there was no actual evidence to show that his version of events was not what actually occured. Huntley is another victim of a system which allows people to be sent to prison for the rest of their lives based on concerns whipped up by the media to make the rest of us feel comfortable with our own oppressive behaviour that stamps on those who we chose not to see.

And now he has no chance of proving his version of events - it all happened in the house - no longer any possible expert analysis of the layout of the bathroom to support the claims.

Should he not now be granted an automatic appeal.

If this post is serious, I've got to commend you for your bravery, if nothing else. Who do you plan to speak up for next, Beelzebiub, Lord of The Flies?

First of all, circumstantial evidence is actual evidence, and, if there's enough of it, is used to convict people all the time. The idea that its not really evidence at all and is merely a way of framing people up is largely a product of TV cop shows. Secondly, the most important evidence in his case wasn't circumstantial anyway.

If Huntley was planning to appeal, he was within his rights to require that all potential evidence be preserved. He didn't, so it was'nt. Finally, there is no automatic appeal. The convicted person has to seek to appeal, and Huntley hasn't done so. I think we can perhaps make certain inferences from that.
