This means that Coca Cola will continue to be sold in the Student bar and the SU shop. Many of the executive in the Union were happy with the results as the Union is in severe financial dificulties. Press Release- Those charged with public order offences from May Day should have been granted bail in Clover Hill


Another Europe is Possible (the broad alliance that organised the two-thousand strong march and carnival from Central Bank to Heuston Station on May Day) condemns the refusal of bail by Judge John Coughlan at Cloverhill District Court to the twelve men charged with public order offences arising from incidents during the May Day march to Farmleigh House. A lot of people can be put off by the violence that can erupt at some of these demonstrations. In contrast the front of the Irish Times on Tuesday shows a woman on at the RTS event dancing with an ice cream in one hand and 2 gardai laughing - more of this type of thing I say!! read full story / add a comment

Nigerian Socialist begins Speaking Tour of Ireland

Today, Segun Sango a pro- democracy, labour activist and socialist will begin a speaking tour of Ireland talking about his experiences in the fight for democratic rights and workers’ rights in Nigeria at a number of public meetings in Dublin, Limerick, Cork and Belfast. Students in the National College of Art and Design voted by a margin of almost 2 to 1 to boycott Coca Cola products on Wednesday April 28th.
