In the US there is a form of subsided housing known as Section 8 where vouchers are given to people on low incomes to help pay their rent. Section 8 is also a subsidy for landlords in low income areas. See the explanation of how this developed on the website referred to later. As part of the general offensive against working people worldwide, the US corporations and their city, state and federal governments are trying to eradicate Section 8. This is the story of how tenants and activists got together and defeated one of these attacks. read full story / add a comment

Bikes are the cleanest ,healthiest and safest way of getting around the city streets but cycling around Dublin can be a nightmare!

Critical Mass is a mass coincidental bunch of cyclists on the city streets The point is to show everyone--commuters, pedestrians and residents that there is a better way to get around. Once people see how much fun cycling can be, and how much safer and more pleasant it makes their streets,we will see improved facilities for cyclists in the city something that will benefit everyone. read full story / add a comment

Since Holland is "chairman"of the EU, the defencetop is gonna be held in Noordwijk in the Netherlands, on 17 and 18 september.
The evil EU defence plans (more money for weapons, ongoing support for US selfdeclared war on terrorism) call for a protest.
The protest will be held on the 18th in Noordwijk, on palaceplein.
