The 3rd Infantry division has gone on a pillaging spree in Baghdad airport taking comfy seats, breaking windows in the terminal, taking what they want and leaving it in a state that "would make the Aegean Stables look like a Tiffany’s window."

The DHKC (Revolutionary People's Liberation Front) from Turkey issues a statement commemorating the attack on the Moncada barracks in eastern Cuba which started the revolution in Cuba. The statement notes that Moncada and the Cuban revolution has inspired revolutionaries elsewhere in the world and continues to do so. read full story / add a comment

Today the ploughshares Dominican nuns Jackie Hudson, Carol Gilbert and Ardeth Platte were sentenced to 18 months, two years and nine months, and three years and five months respectively after a ploughshares action in Colorado. The Catholic Worker five also had a bail hearing today in the Dublin Circuit Court, obtaining a significant relaxation in bail conditions but not a trail date as expected. read full story / add a comment

There was a hearing today in the High Court to set a trial date for the Catholic Worker 5 as a result of their action at Shannon Airport last February. However as the gardai had not yet completed the preparations for the prosecutions the hearing was adjourned until October with no date set for the trial. Before today's hearing there was a demonstration in support of the group. It started at the Spike and then moved single file to the Four Courts. read full story / add a comment

Also with the battle over the privatization of Dublin Bus looming it would be great if the CM could in some way show support for the Bus Drivers so if anyone has banners or leaflets that could be handed out on the way it might be an idea.
