So much for the Iranian Regimes support for democracy in Egypt and Tunisia. A solidarity demo in Tehran is attacked by state forces. The mullahs tremble as the time of change approachs in Iran. The regime in Iran is just as much a dictatorship as those that timbled in Tunisia and Egypt. Only an innocent or a charlatan would suggest otherwise.

Electoral Honesty Commission takes issue with Green Party's Dan Boyle

Dan Boyle, the financial spokesperson for the Green Party, is running in this general election on the platform: ‘Dan Boyle – Honest And True’. But whatever about the veracity of this claim and, let’s face it, politicians are well known for their exaggerations, there appears to be a clear loss of memory by Dan when it comes to owning up to his famous ‘achievements’. Like, for example, bringing the IMF in. Or, like cutting the dole. Or, like consigning a generation of Irish people to a future of emigration. ... read full story / add a comment

Pat & Sharon Mullen of Ballymote, Co. Sligo are in a dispute with the Electricity Supply Board, the E.S.B. want to put three 123 foot high electricity pylons on their land carrying 220,000 volt cables. Pat & Sharon are refusing E.S.B. staff entry to their land to install five overhead lines. On the grounds that they have the potential to have adverse effects on their health, their children and communities health and that of their livestock. Furthermore, they are concerned about the almost certain devaluation of four sites on their picturesque land by the erection of these massive 123 foothigh pylons and the subsequent impact on their children’s inheritance. They want the E.S.B. to place the power lines under ground. A simple request! ... read full story / add a comment
