Whoever in Zurich reports (too) critically about police and authorities (1) or even institutes legal proceedings against fallible officials (2), doesn't have to worry about reprisals like f.e. illegal raid of editorial offices (3), illegal confiscations of editorial papers, negative films and videotapes (4), violent arrestations (5). Though some people have already spoken to their Dail representatives about this issue before, there is a need for a more forceful effort this time. Contact your local TDs, speak to them directly and write to them, calling on them to vote against Ireland's participation in war and against US military overflights and stopovers. ... read full story / add a comment

Thrilled and heartened to hear of the marriage of distinguished grey Anarchist Alan and gorgeous Mary, No fights at the wedding this time that I saw. But I do wonder. Nester Makhno used to take a dim view of his people getting splied to Mensheviks. Cut off their balls I'm told. What did the chief Bakhuninites have to say about it? And the Kautsky's of the CWI Peter Taaffe, (Sir) peter Haddon and Joe the Good -- had they not an opinion on this bizarre union? Anyway lots of congratualtions from all on Indymedia and lots of little Victor Serges. I'm just wondering if anyone else found that the use of the 'Mission Impossible' soundtrack for the piece last night about messrs. Kitt and O'Higgins going out to Iraq offensive? I'm not normally troubled by such trivialities, but I think a diplomatic mission of such relative importance should be part of the 'serious news', and not the light relief at the end. ... read full story / add a comment
