A group of friends decided to re-jig Food not bombs in Dublin. We reclaimed food prepared into lovely veggie burgers and then went to St Stephens Green to give the free food out to hungry passers by and the homeless who thought it was lovely we got moved on several times by the hostile park keepers, who then called the police when we were reluctant to exit the park just for giving out free food. ... read full story / add a comment

Robin Cook resigned as minister recently stating Britain went to war because Blair found easier to stand up to British public opinion than to stand up to Bush. 92,617 US troops passed through Shannon on the way to war sinnce Jan 1st,Irish Govt spent 1.82 million euro defending the militarised airport from the peace movement, Aer Rianta made 11 million euro blood money, disarmament activists face up to 10 years accused of 4 million euro "crim dam" (sic). UNICEF Ireland received in the post today a cheque in the amount of EUR1052.08 from the Superintendent, An Garda Siochana, Anglesea Street, Cork, which was the money seized by gardai from members of the Cork Anti-War Campaign (CAWC) during a march in the city on 22 March. At the subsequent court case the judge dismissed the case against the collectors and agreed to a CAWC request that the money go to UNICEF Ireland to be used in Iraq.
