As anger rises over benchmarking in Ireland, unions return centre stage in Britain with national strike day of action. Wednesday 17 July is set to see the biggest one day strike in Britain for many years. Over one million local government workers in Unison, GMB, and T&G are set to strike over low pay, and in London additionally over London weighting.
