offsite link Losing to Win Thu Feb 13, 2025 14:00 | Dr James Allan

The surreal experience that is Ennis district courtroom continued apace last Friday 7th March with 3 separate cases of resistance to US military use of Shannon Warport being heard. Set in a 1970’s GAA clubhouse/drinking den, the court surroundings brought a whole new meaning to ‘being brought to the bar’ as most of us sat propped against it, reading papers. ... read full story / add a comment

A US Air Force marching band has pulled out of two events in Limerick this weekend. The US Air Force In Europe Band was due to take part in the International Festival Parade on Sunday and the St Patrick’s Day Parade. It is understood they are withdrawing due to security concerns. About 50 of the band’s members, however, will be guests of the “Springfest 2003” celebrations in the city. ... read full story / add a comment

This is a digest of stories from the wire from the week just gone by. IMC IRL is becoming a victim of it's own success in that articles rarely stay on the newswire for longer that 24 hours. So I'll endeavour to give a digest of the most commented on - still relevant articles from each week from now on. If you think I have left important stuff out please add links in comments under this. Concentrated on the upcoming war and Irish Responses cos let's face it - it's hard to think about anything else. I personally wish a coherent broad based protest had been planned for march 15th like elsewhere in the world - waiting with the IAWM for Day x is fatalistic and depressing. Maybe Paddy's day will see some kind of populist opposition to War and to Bertie's support for same. ... read full story / add a comment

Several anti war goups have now been established in W/Belfast. The Falls Rd, Andersonstown Rd and Lenadoon, Twinbrook/Poleglass. There are also individuals who are going to do their own estates and other areas including the Shankill Rd. Thousands of posters and leaflets are being provided by local trade union branches as well as local community and political organisations within West Belfast and that support is very welcome. Anyone looking to get involved in activity in a local group or individually in their areas to leaflet, poster etc for the feeder march and other planned actions contact me at my E-mail and I can put you in touch with local groups. ... read full story / add a comment
