The Indians, Chinese and Europeans are beginning to understand that the US is seeking to gain “leverage against them” by securing control of the oil. Tareq Aziz said that a US war would not be a war on Iraq alone, but a war on the region, India, Sri Lanka and Europe. “Iraq is the first, but not the only target,” Aziz told the Irish lawmakers. It has organised numerous on-campus demos in UCD making it a place of hostility to visiting government figures. lockaded the education Minister in college buildings for hours and organised successful occupations of the M50 motorway,the Departments of Finance, Education and Transport.
