Between 1500 and 2000 anti-Bush protestors marched from City Hall to Spanish Arch where they heard from the new mayor, other City Council members & peace activists saying that Mr. Bush was not welcome in Ireland. The protest march against the visit of George W. Bush began shortly before 6.30pm. Everyone was reported to be in high spirits. At 7.20 the march arrived near the Lidl supermarket. At 8.10 the front of the march was about three hundred metres walk from the airport. 8.30pm The march was stopped about 200 metres from Shannon Airport by the Gardai at about 8.15pm.
