The Australian Senate has censured Prime Minister Howard on the eve of the Bush visit. Robin Cook resigned as minister recently stating Britain went to war because Blair found easier to stand up to British public opinion than to stand up to Bush. 92,617 US troops passed through Shannon on the way to war sinnce Jan 1st,Irish Govt spent 1.82 million euro defending the militarised airport from the peace movement, Aer Rianta made 11 million euro blood money, disarmament activists face up to 10 years accused of 4 million euro "crim dam" (sic). Will there be a dissenting voice at the FF AGM. How colonised and housebroken are these people? UNICEF Ireland received in the post today a cheque in the amount of EUR1052.08 from the
Superintendent, An Garda Siochana, Anglesea Street, Cork, which was the money seized by gardai from members of the Cork Anti-War Campaign (CAWC) during a march in the city on 22 March.

At the subsequent court case the judge dismissed the case against the collectors and agreed to a CAWC request that the money go to UNICEF Ireland to be used in Iraq. The DPP had intended to donate the money to the Garda Benevolent Fund.

This brings the total amount donated to UNICEF Ireland by CAWC to EUR3,500. ... read full story / add a comment

Yesterday the High court jailed 10 bin tax protesters. Last night at very short notice over 300 people protested outside Mountjoy jail where some of them were being held.
