The battle to save Rath Lugh continues against all odds, the past week as seen SIAC construction company erect huge metal spiked fencing along the route, whilst they continue to bulldose the esker of the Ancient Monument within the so called "protection zone". The National Roads Authority (NRA) has submitted a copy of the Directions given by Minister Dick Roche, for the excavation and demolition of the national monument at Lismullin, to An Bord Pleanala. Construction was held up on Fri 18th on the controversial M3 in the Tara Valley by a peaceful demonstration. A small group of concerned active citizens congregated at Rath Lugh at 5:30am. When workers arrived at 6:10am, they were unable to get their vehicles on site and gathered on the N3. While reports were made onthe Campaign to Save Tara mailing list, no call went out for support, and no news report was made, even to Indymedia.
