Some of the folks from Riot-Folk! Records are planning to come early for the G8 in Scotland and want to tour around a bit first doin' what we do best: playing hard-hitting anarchist folk music.

We're stupid Americans who don't know shit about Europe and we're looking for contacts (anyone at all, you don't need to be in a band or have a venue or anything) who might be able to help us out.

We've played with folks like Billy Bragg, Anti-Flag, Against Me!, Pete Seeger, David Rovics, etc.

You can hear lots of free mp3s at http://www.riotfolk.org plus read reviews and learn more about what we do.

So yeah, if yer from Ireland or the UK and you like music and hate governments, get in touch.

"There Is No Common Land in Ireland"
A number of interesting topics were dealt with during the conduct of business at last night's meeting of Greenore/Cooley Fisherman's Association which took place in The Farm, Greenore.
At a special meeting of Greenore/Cooley Fisherman’s Association on Tuesday 8 February 2005 starting at 7.30 p.m sharp in The Farm, Greenore, the secretary - Sean Crudden - read an e-mail he had sent to The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform on 14 January 2005 asking whether the district court had any jurisdiction on the waters of Carlingford Lough. When he pointed out that there had been no reply he was instructed by the meeting to forward the e-mail to Liz O’Donnell TD and to Leonard Hatrick, Chairperson of Ardee Town Council, to see if they separately or together could help to extract an answer from The Department of Justice, Equality and Law Reform.

The secretary was also instructed by the meeting to write to Louth County Council asking it to review safety ... read full story / add a comment

It must be said that in our efforts to highlight the ongoing crisis one thing is constant –
The respect and gratitude the patients have for the nurses and doctors in A&E across the country who have continued to work for years in unhealthy and unsafe conditions and as they so rightly say enough is enough for patients and staff. It must stop now.

Patients together met with Minister Harney in November at that meeting she promised she would meet with us again in a few weeks. In light of the continued deterioration of conditions for staff and patients in A&E we now seek that meeting. We also wish to discuss any actions taken to implement our demands ... read full story / add a comment

Readers of indymedia in Louth and further afield might like to contribute their opinions and comments on a draft constitution for the North Louth Area Forum which was drawn up last night by two members of Greenore/Cooley Fisherman's Association.
