A potentially landmark Human Rights case resulting from a year-long dispute between Belfast City Council and the free cultural newspaper The Vacuum is due to take place on Tuesday 13th September 2005.

Now the whole snarl is going to court as free expression and human rights in the North square off against bipartisan bigotry . ... read full story / add a comment

It is both necessary and prudent for the Irish people to engage in the shape, form and nature that a re-united Ireland will take. inn Féin believes that there is a responsibility on the Irish government to bring forward a strategy to achieve National determination, Irish reunification, political independence, sovereignty and nation reconciliation. Sinn Féin in Meath is launching the campaign to get the Irish government to initiate this process and bring forward a Green Paper on Irish Unity. We will be taking this campaign to every corner of the county in the coming months and seek support from each individual who want to bring unification about by democratic means. ... read full story / add a comment

The proposed gas pipeline in Erris, County Mayo, has at various times been referred to as either a transmission, distribution, domestic, offshore, sales or upstream pipeline, and even “offshore landline”.
