This scandal comes just weeks after it was revealed that the prosecution falsified a statement of a crown witness
On May 21 2008 masked and armed officers of the Austrian elite squad WEGA broke into homes and offices of NGO workers and organisations at the crack of dawn. Since that day, 10 people arrested in the raids have been detained in remand custody. The Alliance for Animal Rights (AFAR) supports Care for the Wilds campaign opposing Tescos turtle sales.
We urge our supporters to Boycott Tesco shops here in Ireland.
CWI investigators who visited 32 Chinese Tesco stores in April and May discovered that staff do not adhere to Tesco's new slaughter
policies. In 12 stores where CWI witnessed slaughter firsthand, staff continued to kill turtles by decapitation alone or by evisceration.
CWI also found large numbers of disembowelled turtles with intact heads for sale.

On Thursday, June 26, 2008, two Ploughshares activists were arrested inside SAAB Microwave in Sweden. Using blacksmith hammers, Ulla Roder and Per Herngren started to disarm military radar at SAAB Microwave's test range at Mölndal and planted fig trees in the area around the factory.
